Why I Think of This So Often
Faith is an intricate part of my life. I remember as a child pondering, doubting, questioning faith often in my mind and verbally. As a parent, these same questions have returned via my youngest child. We have spent many hours discussing the reality of faith in our lives and the impact that it has on both of us personally. There are days (very few) when the reality of faith seems far away; most days, however, it is as close as the air I breath and the people I love. Until tomorrow, Shelly

Hey Shelly- I am a person 'of faith' and I have strong convictions as to what that means, but certainly elements of faith are a mystery. I would like to hear how you define faith, or what it is you have faith in- God? That prompts so many more questions- The biggest one that instantly comes to mind is this- Tell me about the God you believe in, or what you think about divine revelation? I would suggest looking at some theological texts for a defenition of faith and maybe a comparision of sorts. Anyway- I love the topic and I will be following. Take care, Steve Skirvin
ReplyDeleteShelly,
ReplyDeleteI, too, am a big believer in faith. I'm interested in how you get your young child to engage in these conversations. Do you have little 'nuggets' of talk along the way, as you go about your daily business. Or do you and your child set aside time each day to talk? (Normally, I wouldn't ask such questions, but hopefully, because the nature of your blog, you wouldn't mind sharing your thought process and habits you share about faith with your child.
Definitely an intriguing topic!
Hi Shelly! I am also a person of faith and I'll look forward to reading your blog. I'm also interested in how you talk with your child about faith if you decide to blog about that.
